Statistical data can generate interesting art and sound, but usually the numbers need some preparation. Data scientists using amoung other tools the free open source Jupyter Lab which let you interact with your data via Python in a session those state is saved and can be recalled later.

first step is to install Jupyter Lab.

this page demonstrates a data session with Jupyter Lab and Python Pandas. Actually the page is made with Jupyter Lab which can export the notebooks to HTML. The Jupyter Notebook, which can be loaded into Lab, plus some Pure Data and plugdata patches to get started, can be downloaded here. An example CSV file with statistical data can be generated and downloaded here:

There are many statistical resources which can be found online, for instance from municipalities. With the help of Jupyter Lab these data collection can be loaded easily in Pure Datas [text] object and then sequenced. Lets turn data into art and sound.
